HOW OUR WOODEN VAN RACKING FITS ALL VEHICLES
DETAILED INFORMATION ON FITTING CUSTOM SOLUTIONS VAN RACKING BELOW
Step 1: Measure Van Height Measure the internal height of your van, either within 100mm of the roof or the height you're comfortable fixing and aligning the units.
Example:
For a L1 H1 Transit Custom (1400mm to the roof), we recommend 1200mm or 1300mm high units.
For a L2 H2 Transit Custom (1650mm to the roof), units between 1200mm and 1500mm would work.
At this stage you can be thinking about adding a level or rail box these are between 100mm and 175mm depending on your requirements. This can help maximise your internal storage lifting your racking to the ceiling.
Step 2: Measure Length When measuring a van Measure from the bulkiest part of the bulkhead (green dot) to the rear (red dot). Usually where the ply finishes.
Step 3: Measure Length to Wheel Arch Measure from the bulkiest part of the bulkhead (green dot) to the wheel arch box (yellow dot), leaving at least 10mm clearance. This will help you figure out how many standard units fit.
Example:
For a Transit Custom L1 H1 with 1100mm of space, options are:
- 429mm + 429mm = 858mm
- 629mm + 429mm = 1058mm
- 474mm + 474mm = 948mm
Most of our SET's are designed to vit the vans inn question you will see this on most product pages. When designing we always look to maximise this size. so please dont worry about this to much.
Step 4: Measure for Wheel Arch Units Based on Step 2, determine how many wheel arch units can fit (measure to the red dot). Some vans have large door stops or hinges that may require cutting into the racking. Measure carefully within the door space, typically up to the ply lining panel.
Step 5: Adding Units to Both Sides If you need units on both sides of the van, we offer slim-depth units, available in our Pro Unique Range. These units increase floor space between the wheel arches but can still accommodate standard boxes. For more custom setups, refer to our Van Configuration Helper.
